Writing

I write because it helps me understand things.

Usually, I begin with something I cannot stop thinking about: a conversation, a contradiction, a moment from years ago that suddenly means something different, or a question that refuses to leave me alone.

I write about work, power, crisis, identity, friendship, recovery, and the strange ways people behave in groups. Some pieces begin with research. Others begin with something I witnessed, survived, misunderstood, or only recognized years later.
